Sunday Snapshot: Sunrise from the Tajumulco Volcano

Today’s Sunday Snapshot comes from Marek Bron, author of the Backpacking Preparation Guidebook. He blogs about low-cost travel in Asia and Latin America at IndieTraveller.

Tajumulco Volcano, Guatemala

“I took this photo at the top of Tajumulco Volcano in Guatemala. Me and my travel buddy wanted to do something special on Christmas day: it took us 3 hours of chicken bus rides, sleeping on a wooden floor and a night hike starting at 2 a.m. to reach the top in time for sunrise. But the view was just out of this world. The clouds gliding over the mountain range below almost looked like a waterfall.”

Where are some of your favourite views?
